Estate cleanouts and downsizing help in Smithville, MO

Smithville gives residents a bulky item pickup twice a year. It's a good service. It's also five items, and a house has a lot more than five.

What Smithville's bulky pickup covers

The city schedules a bulky item pickup each spring and fall. Residents can set out up to five large items with their regular trash, including furniture, mattresses, and appliances with the refrigerant removed. Electronics like TVs, tires, glass, construction materials, and hazardous waste aren't accepted. Check the city's page for this season's dates.

When the calendar doesn't fit

Twice a year works for one old couch. It doesn't work when a house has to be empty before a closing date. We coordinate vendors around your deadline and confirm what they can remove, including items the city won't accept.

Who coordinates the work

Dustin Williams organizes your project and manages the vendors doing the physical work. He's been hauling since 2023 and also owns Grateful Hauling and Delivery.

Do you come out to the lake area?

Yes. We cover all of Smithville and the rest of the Kansas City metro.

Is there a minimum job size?

There's no minimum project size. Hauling-only jobs go through Grateful Hauling and Delivery, with pricing based on volume.

What does it cost?

Organization fees are $500 for small projects, $1,500 for medium projects, and $2,500 for large projects. Vendor charges and an additional fee calculated as a percentage of vendor charges are separate. You'll review the scope, percentage fee, and expected total before work begins.
