Estate cleanouts in Kansas City

A home to clear.
Help for the work ahead.

When a parent passes or moves into care, the house doesn't empty itself. Somebody has to go through every closet, the garage, and the basement, and decide what happens to all of it. Legacy Bridge plans the project with your family and manages the cleanout, donation, and hauling vendors doing the physical work.

What an estate cleanout covers

  • Planning room by room, so your family identifies keepsakes, paperwork, and valuables before vendors remove anything
  • Planning what the family's keeping and where it needs to go
  • Arranging vendors for donation runs where suitable items are accepted
  • Coordinating vendors to haul away what can't be donated
  • Managing the vendors clearing the house for its next step

Why families call Dustin

  • Hauling experience since 2023.
  • One point of contact. Dustin organizes the project and manages the vendors.
  • He also owns Grateful Hauling and Delivery. Hauling-only jobs go through GHD, with pricing based on volume.
  • Insurance covers project organization, not physical packing or moving.
  • Donation first. The landfill is the last stop.

Three decisions to make before we start

  1. Who has the final say. Pick one person to approve what goes.
  2. What's staying in the family. Walk through, or have us send photos, and mark it.
  3. Your deadline. A closing date, a listing date, or the end of a lease changes the plan.

Handling it from another city?

Plenty of families do this from a distance.

A few questions you might have

Have a question about your situation? Ask Dustin.

What does it cost?

Organization fees are $500 for small projects, $1,500 for medium projects, and $2,500 for large projects. Vendor charges and an additional fee calculated as a percentage of vendor charges are separate. You'll review the scope, percentage fee, and expected total before work begins.

Is there a minimum job size?

There's no minimum project size. Hauling-only jobs go through Grateful Hauling and Delivery, with pricing based on volume.

Does it have to be the whole house?

No. It can be one room, the garage, or the whole house.

Will everything be donated?

No. It depends on the item's condition and what local shelters and thrift stores can accept. Some things still need to be disposed of.

Are you insured?

Legacy Bridge's insurance covers project organization. It doesn't cover physical packing or moving work. Discuss the vendor's coverage before that work begins.

What areas do you cover?

The whole Kansas City metro in Missouri and Kansas, including Liberty, Gladstone, North Kansas City, and Parkville.

When can you work?

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Saturday and Sunday are by appointment.
